A career assessment is a tool to help you better understand your interests, skills, values, or personality. University Career Services offers various assessments you can take to help you make decisions about your career.

Assesses career interests and personality type. To use TypeFocus, click here. Under the TypeFocus heading, there is a link to a registration page. Your registration information will now be used for future logins. Allows you to research careers and save them to a portfolio.

SII-Strong Interest Inventory

Cost: $10.00 (Must come to 1134 WSC to register)
Time to complete: 35 minutes (results returned in appointment with an Academic Advisor)

Measures enjoyment in various occupations, school subjects, personality types and activities. Indicates preference between paired activities and identifies personal characteristics. Provides detailed lists of high-interest career based on responses.

MBTI- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (Career Report)

Cost: $17.00 (Must come to 1134 WSC to register) Time to complete: 35 minutes (results returned in appointment with an Academic Advisor)

Career results are generated based on personality profile. Includes typical career strengths and challenges for personality profile. Measures approach to, perception of and typical reactions to information in terms of thoughts and feelings. Sensing vs. Intuition, Thinking vs. Feeling, Judging vs. Perceiving. Can aid personal relationships, increase productivity and identify leadership and communication preferences.
