Discover Your CliftonStrengths

Understand what comes naturally to you and learn how to use your strengths in school, work, leadership, and your future career.

What is CliftonStrengths?

CliftonStrengths is an assessment that helps you identify your natural patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. Your results give you language for the talents that already show up in how you learn, solve problems, connect with people, make decisions, and get things done.

Your strengths are not a box, label, or career assignment. They are a starting point for better self-awareness and more intentional growth.

Ready to take CliftonStrengths?

The CliftonStrengths assessment costs $13, which will be billed directly to your BYU student account. To get started, complete the Assessment Request Form using your BYU email address. Once your request has been submitted, you will automatically be redirected to the Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment.

Why take the assessment?

CliftonStrengths can help you better understand yourself and explain what you bring to classes, teams, interviews, internships, jobs, and leadership opportunities.

Build self-awareness

Recognize what comes naturally to you and how you tend to show up in school, work, and relationships.

Explore career fit

Use your strengths as one lens for exploring majors, careers, internships, work environments, and next steps.

Talk about yourself

Find words for resumes, interviews, networking, mentoring conversations, and professional introductions.

Grow intentionally

Learn how to aim your talents toward goals instead of treating strengths as fixed traits or automatic outcomes.

What will I get?

After completing the assessment, you’ll receive a personalized report showing your Top 5 CliftonStrengths themes. These themes can help you start asking better questions about what energizes you, how you contribute, and how you can keep developing.

  • What kind of work naturally energizes me?
  • How do I tend to solve problems or make decisions?
  • What do I contribute to a team?
  • How can I explain my strengths in an interview?
